A high-quality five-bar gate, the Town wooden farm gate is handcrafted in a traditional design. Sturdy, durable and practical – it’s a great favourite on homes, farms and a variety of other properties throughout the UK.
The wooden farm gate has a robust rectangular frame, strengthened by symmetrically arranged diagonal bars which hold the horizontal rails firmly in place. All timber is smooth-planed, and traditional mortise and tenon joints are used for maximum strength, rigidity and durability.
Timber gates are supplied untreated as standard so must be painted / treated with a good quality wood treatment after fitting. We can supply your gates with an optional pressure treatment that protects against wood rot and insect infestation. Pressure Treated is by tanalising (results in a green’ish finish that will grey over time) or tanatone which is a brown finish. Note: the treatment is not a 100% wood rot prevention guarantee and it remains the buyers responsibility to periodically inspect and treat the wood to ensure long life. Standard paint colour options are white, grey or black however we can paint the colour of your choice if available in suitable wood paint on request.

Please note this wooden field gate requires a minimum 6” x 6” (150 x 150mm) post.

Please Note: All wooden posts are subject to splitting over tine, this is unfortunately a nature of timber, subject to weather conditions, however does not usually affect the integrity or strength of the wooden post. We will always review each issue on a case by case basis but a splitting post is not an automatic reason for a claim to replace the post. The customer purchases the post knowing the risks of using wood.
