14-Day Money-Back Guarantee

Each of the products we sell through the website includes a 14-day money-back guarantee. We like to ensure that all of our customers have peace of mind and are completely happy when they make a purchase from us. If any products are returned for a refund, the cost for the outbound carriage will be deducted from your refund. If you purchased an item that had ‘free postage’ then please speak to our sales staff to find out what this deduction will be before returning any items. Additionally, the cost of returning any goods is for the buyer’s account.

Warranty

All goods are supplied to you with a 12-month workmanship guarantee from the date of purchase as standard.

In addition to standard cover, each of our wooden gates includes an extended 5-year workmanship guarantee and all of our metal gates include a 10-year workmanship guarantee – that is a decade long cover.

What is covered?

The workmanship guarantee we offer on our gates reflects how much we believe in the skill of our production team. The decade long workmanship guarantee on the metal products we offer covers the work of the manufacturing process and the structural integrity of the welding performed on the metal gate. The timber gate 5-year workmanship guarantee covers the integrity of the joints on all wooden gates. It is highly unlikely that you will experience any issues with your gates, but should that happen – you can rest assured that you are covered.

It is important to note that the workmanship guarantees do not cover the painting of metal products or treatment of wooden gates (even in cases in which Cannock Gates Ltd has applied the finish).

If you live within 10 miles of the coast, then we do not offer any guarantee on our painted metal products. Painted metal products are covered for 12 months for major rusting only as a result of there possibly being a problem with the batch of paint used to paint the products. It remains the customer’s responsibility to regularly touch up any chips and wear from moving parts to prevent the onset of rust. It is also recommended, that the customer checks all products and touches up where needed once the installation is complete. It is not uncommon for slight damage to occur during the delivery or installation process. Note that any nuts and bolts included in the fittings packs must be painted after fitting.

If you require the 12 months coating guarantee on metal products, we recommend that the electro-galvanised & powder coated option is purchased as the finish. Where a wooden product is purchased with a treatment then outside of the first 12 months, any form of wood rot or other form of mould is not covered in any way. This is because checking the long-term condition of the gate is down to the customer and any ingress of wood rot or rusting to integral metal components is out of our hands. All wooden gates are supplied rot free so if they are purchased without any form of treatment, they do not have any form of guarantee against wood rot or mould as it is the buyer’s responsibility to treat the gates with a suitable treatment. We rely on the customer to periodically inspect and treat the gates and fencing for rust or rot as and when required, as we can’t possibly offer cover for something that may not be maintained to a sufficient standard.

Steel products require a good quality metal paint with rust inhibiting characteristics. Timber gates require a microporous paint for smooth planed softwood.

Wooden gates are subject to expansion and contraction and slight twisting as a normal function due to weather and temperature. This is not considered a manufacturing fault unless it is extreme. Often a wooden gate that is slightly twisted in the winter will self-rectify in the summer, equally wetter weather will cause the gate to differ to drier weather. Please take this into account but do feel free to discuss this with our sales team if you think the issue is unusually bad.

Made-to-Measure or Bespoke Products

Due to the bespoke nature of our non-standard products, we cannot offer the same 14-day money-back guarantee that we do on standardised products. For that same reason, we cannot process a cancellation on an order for a non-standard product if it has already left our dispatching team. If you cancel your order for a non-standard product after production has started but before despatch – there will be a cost (that will be determined at that time) – with only the balance of any monies paid to be refunded. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.

When you purchase directly from the Cannock Gates website, you are automatically agreeing to our terms and conditions (unless you have a prior written agreement with Cannock Gates).
